Avoid this place at all costs. They can't tell a broken arm from a healthy one. You'll also wait for hours in the waiting room with no updates.

Before the merger I would have given them 5 stars. I had recieved excellent care when I went there for several strokes and other things. I am happy to say i have mended from the strokes.I was pleased with Holy Spirit for about 5 years that I had gone there which was before the merger. I have been there since the merger with Geisinger and I find that the nurses are not as happy or spontneous. They do things by the book which is of course good but the ones I had since are more stern, no joking about anything which in some circumstances helps to calm a person down and I felt like I should not have come there because I am too much bother. A doctor at Holy Spirit sent me home saying there was nothing wrong with me. I ended up elsewhere after i called my doctor and said I was sent home. I went back perhaps 2 more times. I did make a complaint which I was treated with respect. The food was excellent. It is freshly brought to you when you order it. Plentyful plus they call you if you did not order yet. No complaints there There are really more good than bad people here. I am hoping if I need a hospital again I get the good ones I had as an inpatient. It was the ER doctors who were most likely frazzeled and who were not friendly.

I have nothing but praise for the employees here. I was treated with such respect. Always smiling and uplifting. Never felt I was bothering anyone. I was in room 738 I had a nurse Kiley who I will never forget. That goes for all, very refreshing.

I had my child through HSH and I loved them. They were so nice and checked on me frequently. I'm pregnant again and I am going back. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars was because of the free food they give you after giving birth being pretty much gross. And there was one nurse that wasn't the greatest, but I've found that it's like that at any hospital and it's more of a personality thing than something to blame the hospital for.

Waited 8 hours in ER and did not get clear explanation from Doctor on what was going on with my daughter. Last nurse was not even sure that daughter should go because doctor did not leave instructions. Doctor was incompetent. Nurses did not wear gloves when putting in and removing IV, thought they were taught to use universal precautions. Could be wrong on that one though. My daughter has had multi test done at Holy Spirit, we were happy with that part of the hospital. We will never go to ER again ever. 8 hours wasted in the ER with no explanation, nothing!!
