I was riding my bike and my cable snapped the other night. The gentleman who took care of me said I would have it back the next day so I can ride on Sunday!
Seemed like a decent bike shop, but I broke my brake lever on my rental during a mountain bike ride. Instead of having me pay for the part at cost, they made me pay full shelf price. Horrible policy, will not EVER be a patron of this place again. Disappointed. The guy with the weird facial hair was pretty condescending. Scott was super cool though.
I have had great experience with them. Nice selection of bikes, the staff is courteous and knowledgeable about the bikes as well. They will let you test ride the bikes couple of times w/o any pressure of buying.
I bought a Trek 1.5 aluminum road bike from Holmes in 2011. I have been a continued customer of Holmes since then. Service here is prompt and effective, and they are the only real Trek dealer in greater Harrisburg. Turnover rates for service are surprisingly faster than other local bike shops, despite their volume.
Best bike shop in town. The staff are very knowledgeable and experienced and the selection of bikes and accessories is outstanding. Holmes has been around for 40+ years for a reason. They make people happy.
